Gomez's Success Keeps Going Round and Round
Seventeen year old artist Selena Gomez announced on May 26, 2010 on her Facebook Fan Page, that she will be releasing a new single with The Scene on June 18th on Radio Disney. It was also announced that the single would be up for iTunes download June 21st.
The music video for "Round and Round" will premier on Disney Channel on June 20th at 8:25 EST. Also according to her Facebook page she shot the video while also shooting for her upcoming movie "Ramona and Beezus" starring Joey King, Sandra Oh, and many others.
Selena is from Grand Prairie, Texas. She got her start on the TV Series "Barney & Friends". From then, she got random guest roles, until she was discovered in a nationwide Disney scouting. It was from that point, that Selena Gomez started the road to fame.
On June 11th, it was posted on her website selenagomez.com that members of The Scene, those who pay a $35 Annual Membership fee, would be able to have a sneak peak of the upcoming single "Round and Round"
Her last big hit, with her band The Scene, "Naturally" spent 122 weeks(91% of the year) in the charts according to acharts.us. It peaked at #7 in the charts in the U.S.A.

Is Selena Gomez Good? Maybe. Is She Loved? Definitely
Selena Gomez is famous thanks to the Disney Channel, but is Selena Gomez good? She's certainly good at bringing in ratings and album sales. In 2009 she starred in The Wizards of Waverly Place, which brought 11.4 million viewers to the Disney Channel for its premiere, making it the most-viewed scripted telecast on cable television of the year.
The year before that, Selena brought in 5.3 million viewers for the premiere of Another Cinderella Story, and she helped the soundtrack reach number eight on Billboard's Soundtrack chart.
So Selena Gomez is definitely good at bringing an audience. Is Selena Gomez good at acting, dancing or singing? Yes, yes, and maybe. While the young star has proved she can connect with Disney's target audience with her charm and spunk, she hasn't yet proved that she's a serviceable pop star.
Selena's singles so far have been heavily produced, and she hasn't been as successful in music as Disney friend-turned-rival Demi Lovato, who won the "Choice Music – Tour" award at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.

Selena Gomez teases new song 'Round and Round'
It's summertime on The Disney Channel, and that always means more music (and often more new episodes) featuring some of the network's biggest stars. In the case of Selena Gomez, this represents yet another chance to celebrate a song release. Following the success of "Naturally", we now have another song from Selena Gomez & the Scene entitled "Round and Round" which we can check out a preview for below.
So is the song absolutely revolutionary in terms of sound? Not exactly -- both the beat and the lyrics are reminiscent of something we've heard from past Disney stars in the past. However, it does have a catchy enough melody to make it perfect for the radio.
Selena's Disney Channel show "Wizards of Waverly Place" was recently renewed for another season, and she is also about to launch a fashion line through Kmart.
What do you think of Selena's new song? "Round and Round" will debut in video form on The Disney Channel on June 18, and will then be available for download on the 20th.

Selena Gomez show 'Wizards of Waverly Place' renewed for another season
If you were hoping to get another dose of Selena Gomez on the Disney Channel, then prepare to be excited. According to the newest reports, the popular show "Wizards of Waverly Place" has been picked up for another season.
The good news for Selena fans doesn't end there, either -- Disney has also optioned a second "Wizards of Waverly Place" TV movie, which will reportedly go into production this August.
Now that Miley Cyrus is ending "Hannah Montana" this season, Gomez stands poised to become the reigning queen of the network, which targets mostly pre-teen girls with much of their programming. She has been previously linked romantically to Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers (another Disney Channel star).

Selena Gomez Wants The Media To Leave Her Alone
Selena Gomez has revealed that she hates it when the media discuss her love life and wishes it could remain private.
The Wizards Of Waverly Place actress, who is rumoured to have dated Nick Jonas and Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner does not want to be known for who she has been in a relationship and would rather be remembered for her work.
Gomez explained to You magazine: "My ideal would be not to be known for who I'm dating, because eventually that's all you will be known for,"
"It's hard, because people are curious about who's in my life, but I want to be known for my work. And I never want to view myself as any different or any better than anyone else."
She added: "If I wanna go eat at a little restaurant that isn't fancy, I'll do it. If I wanna go out without make-up and not care what I look like, I will."
The Selena Gomez & The Scene singer also previously stated that is something makes her mad, she has to refrain from losing her temper to avoid upsetting her fans.

Disney Dreaming: Can Justin Bieber Save Selena Gomez And Demi Lovato’s Friendship?
M Magazine has suggested that Justin Bieber can help Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato make up. Aww, we loved when they were BFF’s, but we’re not sure this will happen!
Demi has made a number of comments in interviews about how she doesn’t know how Selena is doing anymore, and that Taylor Swift would know better, since she and Selena hang out often. She has also said that she was hurt by Selena, but nobody knows exactly what happened – we’re just happy they both seem happy in their own lives right now, and we have hopes that in the future they will be civil again.
But can Justin really change anything between these two ex-BFFs? The magazine has reported that Justin is close with Selena, Demi, Taylor and Miley Cyrus (who Demi is now BFFs with), and that perhaps he will be able to sort things out between all the lovely ladies?

Selena Gomez Continues To Drive Paparazzi Crazy
Selena Gomeaz tries not to give the paparazzi anything to talk about except her work. She tells The Mirror, "Whenever I go out of town they follow me, when I’m at home in LA sometimes they give me space. I don’t like it at all, but it comes with the job. I’m pretty boring for a teenager really.""I just like to do normal things and I’m not into the partying scene. My job’s so crazy that in my free time I just like to stay in and watch movies."Of course that might all change when Selena Gomez turns 21. But Selena doesn't seem like the kind of young star that will end up in rehab clinics or wearing alcohol monitoring bracelets. By the time Lindsey Lohan reached Selena's age she was already riding the road to debauchery and failure, and so far Selena has stayed out of trouble.Selena definitely seems more grounded than other celebrities her age. "In my world there’s a lot of things available to me. But I think having some sense of authority in my life reminds me I’m just a kid."
